Annual projects include the awarding of the DAR Good Citizens certificates and pins to an outstanding senior student from each of the four area high schools, and presenting a Community Service Award.

In 2012, the Katherine Gaylord Chapter presented the Women in American History Award to Lynda P. Russell.

In 2010, the Katherine Gaylord Chapter awarded the prestigious Historic Preservation Recognition from the DAR to the Bristol Cemetery Commission for its work in preserving local cemeteries.  The chapter was pleased to be the first in the state and the Northeast to award the Historic Preservation Recognition Award.
